Hey guys, I came across this verse last night, and it really just reminded me of our calling this summer..I hope this encourages you:
1 Peter 5:2-4
"Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers - not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away."
I think this verse was alot of what Drew was talking about..how this summer is going to reap huge rewards for the kingdom..anyways, just thought I'd share it :)

ReplyDeleteTitus 1:7-9
"Since an overseer is entrusted with God's work, he must be blameless... he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine..."

ReplyDeletethese make me so excited! I actually just got on to share a verse, and I'm so pumped to see these up here! I just read this and I think it would be awesome if we pray these verses over our staff and counselors.
ReplyDeleteRomans 15:5-6

ReplyDeleteTitus 2:6-8
"Similarly, encourage the campers to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us."
